Inspiration: picture frames

So I definitely jinxed everything by announcing my moving date.  It’s been postponed again.  Not 100% confident it’s ever going to happen at the stage, but that doesn’t stop me dreaming about the house that might one day be.

I’m guessing it’s pretty normal to be a little bit obsessed with planning out all aspects of a house when you’re in the process of buying a house.  While I’ve been trolling through Pinterest trying to distract myself from the stress I’ve been trying to pretend isn’t happening, I’ve come across some pretty cool ideas.

I really didn’t want to become one of those girls who creates their life around Pinterest pins, but it really is inevitable.

One kind of idea I found that I’m quite excited about is the use of photo frames.  Frames on walls, groundbreaking.  Since I was 18 I’ve lived in rented accommodation and haven’t had the freedom to hammer holes everywhere, I probably could have done if I really wanted to but I never felt like being that kind of rebel.  I’ve also built up a few commitment issues about anything too permanent, very dramatic when we’re talking about photo frames but there we go!

Back to the ideas I found on Pinterest.  I love the idea of anything that is a bit unusual and involves a bit of effort or creativity to put together.

There are so many aspects that I love about all the images I’ve seen and they have given me far too many ideas.  The idea of layering frames up to create a more 3-D wall feature is interesting, I think I would want to combine that with photographs and artwork though rather than leaving all of them empty.  I also like the idea of adding small mirrors into the mix as well for some extra detail.

I am fairly confident that in one of the boxes I’ve already packed there are a load of vintage style frames I bought years ago when a local photography shop was going out of business.  As soon as I’ve moved in and gotten bored with all the important stuff that definitely should take priority, I’ll definitely be procrastinating with placement and most importantly content.  Who says I don’t have my priorities in order?

Stay tuned!

Much love!
