Style: holiday prep part 2

While I was trying to be an organised person, I thought it would be a good idea to put a bit of thought into what products to take. Hand luggage has to be the biggest pain. How do you narrow down a corner of a room to one little bag?

During this mini prep session, it seemed like a good time to have a clear out. Who needs 14 drawers and 2 boxes of beauty crap? Mini win with this clear out was finding a foundation I’d bought a few months ago that was a shade or two too dark, perfect for a little summer tan.

Now, it wouldn’t be a makeup post without a little Pinterest trial run. I did a little search, and honestly was looking for something a bit more interesting but all the crazy looks involved glitter and gems, I wasn’t prepared to get that involved. This look seemed like a pretty cool look and not something I’d usually go for. Perfect.

I don’t know who I think I’m kidding that I won’t just be wearing the bare minimum and sweating everything off. I have to say I was quite proud of my application here. Still far from being a professional but not bad for an amateur.

What could be better after a face full of makeup than a face mask? A week of sun definitely isn’t going to do me any favours in the long term, and one little mask isn’t going to fix that, but it won’t hurt will it?

After all the unnecessary faffing around, I think I’ve come up with a pretty solid selection. Foundation, concealer (like I know how to use it), blush, contour, couple of eyeshadow, eyeliner and lip choices and a mascara. I’m fairly confident I’ve missed something I would like, but who cares? It’ll all be fine.

What would anyone recommend for a basic makeup bag that isn’t completely boring but isn’t too much for the heat?

Stay tuned!

Much love!
